COMMUNITY VOICES SUPPORTING ROSA 〰️

In 2016, the people of Union County made a clear and powerful decision: we voted for term limits. We did it because we believe in fresh leadership, in new ideas, and in representatives who serve the people—not themselves. We understood that when politicians stay too long, they can become more concerned with holding onto their positions than doing what’s right.

Now, in 2026, two former Commissioners who have already served their allotted time—Matt Scarfo and Donna Beverage—are asking for those positions again.

This isn’t just about an election. It’s about whether our votes actually matter.

If we allow term limits to be ignored, then what did our decision in 2018 mean? If we don’t stand by what we voted for, we send the message that the will of the people can be set aside when it’s inconvenient.

But we have a choice—and a strong one.

Rosa Rice represents something different. She represents respect for the people of Union County. She believes in democracy not just as a word, but as a responsibility. She believes our voices matter, and that elected officials should listen.

Rosa believes in transparency and accountability. She wants Commission meetings held at times when working people can actually attend—when your voice can be heard—not when decisions can quietly be made without public input. She believes the public has a right to stay informed and involved.

Rosa isn’t an outsider to this community. She grew up here. She knows this land, these people, and the challenges we face—from housing to healthcare—because she has lived them. She understands that Union County deserves leadership that is engaged, present, and willing to act.

This race is exactly why term limits exist. They give us the chance to move forward, to bring in new energy, and to choose leaders who reflect where we are today.

We made our voices heard once. Now we have to stand by that decision.

As a fifth-generation member of a seven generation Union County farm and ranch family, I’ve seen firsthand how important renewal is. Nothing thrives without it. Not the land, not a business, and not a government.

That’s why I strongly and sincerely support Rosa Rice for Union County Commission.

Let’s honor our vote. Let’s move forward. Let’s choose leadership that respects us.

Hi, I’m Matt Wilhelm I own Eagle Eye Construction, and I serve on the Elgin City Council.

I’ve gotten to know Rosa through her work in this community, and I’ve seen firsthand the way she shows up and works with people. She understands the challenges folks are facing because she’s in it every day.

I think it’s important to have leadership that’s practical, accountable, and connected to the community—and that’s what Rosa brings.

I’m proud to support Rosa Rice for Union County Commissioner.
